In my late teens, I fell in love with acting and directing theatre shows whilst studying in Edinburgh. I knew that was what I wanted to do. Being in the shows meant taking on roles to get the tickets sold and that’s when I started to design the posters and photograph the press runs. Suddenly, I was capturing 70 shows a year and was a go-to Photographer in the Edinburgh theatre scene.
My images started running in newspapers and materialised in a job with NME magazine shooting bands instead of actors.
By 21, I had shot covers and centre-folds and was working for and touring with artists such as Wolf Alice, The 1975, Bombay Bicycle Club, Mumford & Sons, Leon Bridges, and Sam Smith working by night whilst having started as an Art Director under Mark Goodwin, Jason Lawes and Grant Parker at M&C Saatchi down in London.
9 years later, I am freelance working as a Portrait Photographer, Film Director and a freelance senior creative.
I have flown all over the world making campaigns for the likes of Airbnb, On Running, Netflix, Burts Bees and Nike and toured with bands across the U.K and Europe. A huge part of my freelance is also being around to team up with my wonderful wife, Emily, to look after our two minis Leo and Ottilie.
